 always know when I pick up a book written by Miranda James I'm in for a cozy, good time that can be read on a dark and dreary night as well as a bright sunny day. There really is nothing more comforting than a smart, solid mystery that is light on the violence and heavy on the problem solving who-done-it. And let's face it, Diesel is absolutely charming as Charlie's empathetic Moon Cain cat and side kick.

It's interesting how Jeffery Deaver leads the reader down the path of, what appears to be obvious conclusions, only to pull the curtain aside and reveal the reality the situation. And you can't even be mad for having been tricked because the final outcome is pieced together so seamlessly and satisfactorily that, as the reader, you're just relieved your worst fears weren't met. That is the genius of Jeffery Deaver. 

Easy, delicious read full of intrigue and romance. I wonder if this is the beginning of a new series?

I don't normally get into books about talking animals. But Scare-dy Cats has just the right amount of mystery and cuteness that I can overlook my aversion to critters with the gift of speech. And some of those recipes sound delicious. I think this may be my favorite Cupcake book so far.

Imagine if you will a homicidal Jane Eyre and you get the idea of what you're getting yourself into when you read this book. It has murder and intrigue and suspense. It has a love story and a mystery. And I'd like to believe Charlotte Bronte would have really enjoyed this homage to her little story.

DEAR MR. KNIGHTLEY: A NOVEL by Katherine Reay made me cry. I was concerned there wouldn't be a happy ever after and I would have been okay with that. But the author sneaked one in at the end and made it work. And I'm okay with that too.
